Our new house is twice as big as the one we lost to Katrina. (the lawn is three times as big!), and is on the north shore. We were lucky to strike a deal with Stu's former boss who was planning to list the house. We bought it without agents fees and got built in equity. The transaction was featured in the Times Picayune real estate section with a picture! First thing to go up? The LSU Flag!
The new house has 11' ceilings with a foot of crown molding, beautiful transoms over doorways, picture windows across the back of the house, a large garage, and enough rooms for a couple of kids, while keeping an office. Best of all, only minor updates like new lights and replacing carpet. The gardens needed a lot of work, but it is home now!
